I'm the maker behind SmartMCP. I built it because I wanted to make working with WordPress through AI more practical, whether you're in the dashboard, using an external AI client, or away from your desk.
SmartMCP combines a built-in AI chat inside WordPress with MCP connectivity for compatible AI clients like Claude. It also supports a Telegram bot, so you can message your WordPress site from your phone, write posts, check comments, and use the same AI tools without opening wp-admin.
I wanted the Telegram integration to be useful without compromising control. Only the chat you link can access the bot, messages and tool calls are recorded in the audit log, and Telegram is contacted only when you turn the bot on.
The free version is available on WordPress.org, with a Pro version for users who need more capabilities.
