What inspired you to build this? Slide in eSim didn’t start in a pitch deck. It started behind counters — decades of brick-and-mortar mobile retail. We heard every roaming complaint and saw every shocking overage bill. The SIM card was becoming software, and we knew travelers shouldn’t still be standing in airport lines for a plastic chip. What problem were you trying to solve? International data is still broken for most people: airport SIM queues, prepaid kiosks you don’t trust, or carrier roaming that can ruin a trip before you leave baggage claim. We wanted something simpler — buy before you fly, get a QR by email, land, scan, and connect. Keep your number. Skip the SIM swap. How did your approach evolve? We first built the full web store: plans for 200+ destinations, Stripe checkout, automatic eSIM provisioning, and real human support (we’re NYC-based — awake when you land). Then we turned that same experience into native iOS/Android shells so travelers can manage orders and top-ups from their phone. Along the way we kept the retail mindset: competitive pricing, clear instructions, and a seven-minute rule — if you’re not online fast, that’s on us to fix. Land. Scan. Connect. →
