Hi Product Hunt!
I launched Sink In here in the spring for iPhone and Android. Today it is on the Mac.
The idea in short: I struggled with phrasal verbs for years because I learned them verb by verb. What finally worked was starting from the particle. OUT often means leaving a plan or group (drop out, back out, opt out), or continuing until nothing is left (run out, burn out, sell out). Once you see the idea, new verbs start to make sense.
Why a Mac app? Many learners study at a desk, with the laptop already open for work or class. On a big screen you see the whole map at once: particles in the sidebar, their meaning groups, and an animated scene for each meaning.
What is inside:
31 particles and 280 meaning groups, each with its own animated scene
Short daily practice that you can type on the keyboard
CEFR levels from B1 to C2, checked against Cambridge and Oxford learner dictionaries where possible
Free to start. Pro lets you pick up where you left off on all your devices
I would love feedback, especially from people who teach or learn English. Which phrasal verb still confuses you?
