Sero: Workshop for AI-assisted builders
A local workspace for building software with AI agents
Sero is an open-source AI workspace that can be reshaped from the inside. Build your product, then turn the repetitive parts of that work into custom tools, panels, plugins, and workflows. It’s for founders and builders who don’t want a fixed AI coding app — they want a local, hackable workspace that starts simple and grows around how their company actually works.
Hey Product Hunt — I’m excited to share the open-source alpha of Sero.
Sero started from a simple frustration: AI coding agents are getting more capable, but most workflows still live across scattered windows - chat here, terminal there, browser preview somewhere else, logs in another tab.
Sero brings those pieces into one local workspace for each project.
The bigger idea is DIY software tooling. If your workflow needs a dashboard, a background job, a custom tool, a memory system, or a weird internal automation only your team would understand, Sero is meant to make that buildable.
It’s a workspace for building software - and for rebuilding the workspace around how you actually work.
This first release is early, source-only, and rough around the edges. I’m launching it now because Sero needs feedback from founders, indie hackers, engineers, and teams experimenting with AI-assisted development.
I’d especially love to hear:
- What would make an AI workspace genuinely useful to you?
- Where do current AI coding tools create the most friction?
- What would you want to customise, automate, or rebuild for your own workflow?
Thanks for taking a look. Sero is early, but I think the direction is worth exploring in public.
