SerieX
Free desktop bookkeeping and payroll. Keep your data.
Free, open-source bookkeeping and U.S. payroll for Mac and Windows. Keep company files on your computer, work offline, import QuickBooks Desktop exports, and manage invoices, bills, reconciliation and reports. No subscription or product account required. Connect an AI assistant to ask questions about your books.
Hi Product Hunt! I’m Ricardo, sharing SerieX: free, open-source desktop bookkeeping and U.S. payroll for small businesses.
The idea is straightforward: keep your books in a file you control, with familiar accounting workflows and no monthly subscription. SerieX brings invoices, bills, bank-file imports and reconciliation, inventory, financial reports, and payroll into one Mac or Windows app. It also imports QuickBooks Desktop exports, with a test run and a trial-balance comparison to help check the migration.
You can explore the sample company before using your own books, and connect an AI assistant to ask questions about your books.
I’d appreciate feedback from small-business owners, bookkeepers and contributors—especially on importing existing books and the everyday workflows you rely on.
