Top comment

I built Safari Planner to solve a simple problem: planning a safari trip takes too long and usually means juggling multiple tabs, blogs, and rough itineraries that don’t quite fit together. I wanted something faster and more practical; enter a destination, and within seconds get a structured itinerary that actually makes sense for a safari context. Not generic travel plans, but something tailored to Africa, wildlife routes, and realistic trip flow. During development, the focus shifted from just generating itineraries to making them usable; clean structure, logical day-by-day flow, and (in the pro version) the ability to edit, download, and add essentials like packing lists. It’s still evolving, but the goal is straightforward: reduce safari planning from hours to about a minute.

Who hunted Safari Planner?

Safari Planner was hunted by Joel Odimo. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
