Retrace

Reverse video search you pay per search, not per month

Upload a clip or paste a TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or X link. Retrace samples up to 24 distinctive frames across the whole video, searches each one visually and groups the pages where the same footage appears. The scan and match count are free; unlocking a search's links costs $0.90. No subscription, balance never expires. Useful for finding a clip's original, spotting recycled news footage, catfish checks and creators finding reuploads.

Hi Product Hunt! I built Retrace because every reverse video search I tried either searched one frame at a time (Google Lens) or wanted a monthly subscription for something most people need a couple of times a year. Retrace samples frames across the whole clip, searches them all and shows you, for free, how many pages carry the same footage. If you want the links, that search costs $0.90. No subscription, and the balance never expires. It's honest about its limits: it finds public pages that search engines have indexed, not private accounts or deleted posts, and it doesn't read upload dates or detect AI. I'd love to hear what you'd use it for, and about any clip it fails on.
