Hi ! We decided to build Recirca after seeing the same problem repeated across refurbishment and repair operations: teams were managing high-value physical devices with tools designed for orders, tickets, or spreadsheets — not for the device itself. In refurbishment workflows, the real unit of value is the device. Yet most systems break it into disconnected pieces: a ticket for repair, a line in inventory, a note in a spreadsheet. This makes it nearly impossible to answer simple questions in real time: Where is this device? What has it cost us so far? What margin will it generate? Recirca started as a simple idea: what if every device had a continuous, living identity from intake to resale? From there, the product evolved into an asset-centric platform where each device becomes the core object of the system — with its full history, costs (parts, labor, consumables), and margin tracked in real time. The approach changed significantly while building it. We initially thought in terms of “better repair management software”, but quickly realized the real shift was structural: moving away from workflow-centric tools to asset-centric operations. That meant rethinking everything — from Kanban boards, to costing models, to how teams interact with physical stock on the floor. Today Recirca is built for refurbishers, ITAD operators, and repair shops — from solo technicians to large-scale operations — who need to understand their real margin per device, not just their activity per ticket.
