Read Aloud Book Reader
Turn ebooks and PDFs into offline audiobooks on your iPhone
I built this because I was frustrated that listening to books I already owned was still awkward and expensive. Most solutions either require another audiobook subscription or charge to convert books using cloud AI services. Read Aloud Book Reader lets you listen to EPUBs and PDFs using the voices already built into iPhone and iPad, with offline playback, progress tracking, and AI summaries. There is no subscriptions or per-book conversion fees.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 One thing that always bothered me was that owning an ebook didn’t really help if I wanted to listen to it instead. Audiobooks are great, but I found myself repeatedly paying for books I already had in EPUB or PDF form. The alternatives usually involved subscriptions, cloud conversion services, or workflows that felt clunky for long-form listening. So I built Read Aloud Book Reader to feel more like a real audiobook player for your own library. A lot of the work actually went into the small things: * remembering exactly where you stopped * making long listening sessions reliable * working well offline * and keeping the experience simple enough that I would actually use it myself every day Curious to hear how other people handle reading vs listening today, especially for non-audiobook content.
