Quoridor
A classic abstract strategy board game
The rules are simple: move your pawn to the opposite side of the board before your opponent does. But there's a twist — you can place walls to block their path! Features: - Play against AI opponents at multiple difficulty levels - Clean, minimalist board design - Smooth animations and haptic feedback - Dark and light themes - No internet connection required — play anywhere!
I discovered Quoridor years ago and loved how a game with such simple rules could have so much strategic depth. Surprisingly, when I looked for a good Android version, most options felt outdated, cluttered, or lacked a satisfying offline experience. I wanted an app that respected the elegance of the original board game instead of turning it into a flashy mobile game.
The initial goal was simple: build the Quoridor app that I would personally enjoy playing. That meant a clean interface, smooth animations, responsive controls, and AI opponents that make you think instead of relying on randomness. The challenge wasn't adding more features—it was removing distractions and making every move feel natural.
As development progressed, I realized that polishing the experience mattered far more than adding complexity. I spent a lot of time refining wall placement, move validation, game flow, haptic feedback, AI behavior, and overall responsiveness. Many of the improvements are things players may never consciously notice, but they make the game feel much more satisfying.
This launch is just the beginning. My vision is to keep improving the game with stronger AI, more game modes, multiplayer, player statistics, and features that help people learn and master Quoridor over time.
I'm excited to hear what the Product Hunt community thinks and which features you'd love to see next.
