I built Quitka because most quit-smoking apps feel lonely, repetitive, and easy to abandon after a few days.
I wanted to turn quitting smoking into something motivating and social instead of purely personal. With Quitka, every skipped cigarette contributes to your city and country rankings in real time, creating a sense of collective progress and friendly competition.
The idea was simple: people are more likely to stay consistent when they feel part of something bigger than themselves.
Building the global ranking system and health map across 26 countries was one of the biggest challenges, but it became the core feature that makes Quitka different from traditional trackers.
