PromptChief
Stop rewriting prompts. One library for every AI chatbot
Be honest: you've rewritten the same ChatGPT prompt 50 times. PromptChief ends that. Save your best prompts, insert them in any AI chat with one click. Smart placeholders like [DATE] or [TOPIC] auto-fill on the fly. Build multi-step Chains. Browse the community Hub. Chrome extension + web app — works in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity & more. And we're just getting started: native apps, Mini-Apps builder, and EU-hosted Teams are coming.
#YC application — tagging @gustaf as mentioned in @aaronoleary's thread
I'm John, solo developer from Germany, and I built PromptChief because I was drowning in my own prompts.
Every week I'd write a solid prompt for ChatGPT or Claude on some client project, lose it in a Notion doc, then rewrite it from scratch two weeks later. Slightly worse each time. The browser tabs piled up. The "AI productivity" was anything but productive.
I tried the existing prompt managers. Most just save text. None of them actually live where I work — inside ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini. None of them let me chain prompts together. None of them gave me real placeholders that auto-fill with today's date or the URL I'm on.
So I built the tool I wanted:
- Save once, insert in any AI chat with one click
- Magic placeholders like [DATE], [URL], [CLIPBOARD] — and custom ones like [TOPIC] or [TONE]
- Multi-step Chains for workflows (ideas → outline → article)
- Prompt Lab to refine and A/B test prompts with AI Analysis
- A community Hub of ready-to-use prompts
Works in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, DeepSeek and more. Chrome extension + full web app.
🚀 The bigger vision (slide 6):
PromptChief today is a prompt manager. By 2027, I want it to be where your AI tools live — through a Mini-Apps builder where users create their own AI-native consumer apps (think "your own Strava" or "your own habit tracker" with prompts as the engine), GDPR-ready Teams hosted in Germany, a Public API + MCP Server, and eventually a Marketplace where creators earn from the apps they build.
The bet: the next generation of consumer software won't be installed from app stores — it'll be built by users themselves on top of AI primitives. PromptChief is the workspace where that happens.
Built solo, in public, on production-ready infrastructure (EU-hosted via Supabase, Paddle as Merchant of Record, MCP-ready architecture). Shipping fast.
What's the one prompt you keep retyping over and over? Drop it in the comments — genuinely curious what workflows people have built.
Cheers,
John

Who hunted PromptChief?
PromptChief was hunted by John. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
