What inspired me to build this? A few months ago, I decided to put together a simple, short ebook to give away for free. I genuinely thought writing it would be the hardest part. But when I tried to format my raw text into a clean, professional PDF and EPUB, I hit a massive wall. What problem am I trying to solve? Every software or online tool I tried either had a steep learning curve, completely broke the layout, or demanded a $20-$30 upfront fee just to export the file. It felt ridiculous to pay a premium just to give my own work away. I strongly believe the barrier to entry for self-publishing shouldn't be a paywall, nor should it require a degree in design. Writers just want to write. How did my approach evolve while working on it? Doing what developers do best, I got frustrated and decided to build my own solution. Initially, I just wanted to create a quick script to fix my margins. But as I dug deeper into the problem, my mindset completely shifted. I realized the world doesn't need another simple note-taking app. It needs a frictionless publishing engine. So, I focused all my frontend experience on building a rock-solid, Markdown-first engine. The process evolved into creating a tool where you simply write in plain text, and the engine instantly handles the typography, margins, and layout under the hood, generating print-ready files. The core formatting and export features are entirely free. I’d absolutely love for you to try it out, break it, and tear it apart. I’m here all day to answer your questions and hear your brutal feedback on the UX and export quality. Thanks for checking it out! 🚀
