Thanks for checking out PDFree! A bit more context: I built this after a real personal frustration — a school asked me to merge 83 certificates into one compressed PDF, and every free tool either had file limits, watermarks, or required uploading everything to a server. That felt wrong. So I wrote a Python script first, then turned it into a proper browser tool. A few things I want to address upfront: Is it really offline/local? Yes. Open DevTools → Network tab and you'll see zero requests while files are processed. Everything runs in Web Workers. Why not a desktop app? Because PWA is almost as capable, easier to update, and works on any device with a browser — including phones. It installs to your home screen and works offline. Open source? Yes, AGPLv3. The repo is linked in the post. Feel free to audit, fork, or improve. Monetization? None. No ads, no tracking, no donation pop-ups. I just wanted a tool I'd trust myself. If people find it useful, that's enough. I'd love feedback on a few specific things: UI/UX: What feels confusing or unnecessary? Features: What's missing that you actually use in other PDF tools? Performance: Does anything feel slow or sluggish, especially on mobile or large PDFs? I'm a solo dev, so constructive criticism is very welcome. If something breaks, tell me and I'll fix it. Also, if anyone wants to talk about the AI-assisted workflow I used (Claude Code, Grok, DeepSeek, Gemini) over those 24 days, happy to share what worked and what didn't. Thanks again! ❤️
