Hi Product Hunt! I’m the maker of PayCall. I built it around a frustrating problem for Americans abroad: a bank, airline or government agency gives you a 1-800 number, but your foreign phone can’t reach it.
PayCall lets you call U.S. and Canadian numbers, including toll-free hotlines, directly from your browser. No app, SIM or U.S. phone number needed. Enter a number or choose a company guide, check the rate, sign in with Google or an email link, and buy prepaid credits. There’s a keypad for “Press 1” menus and a live cost display.
Calls cost $0.39/min, billed per second from answer; unanswered calls are free. Credits come in $10/$20 packs and never expire. The first-call guarantee lets you refund a connected call that didn’t reach anyone to your credits within 24 hours, once per account, up to $3.
“Hold for me” costs $0.09/min in a hotline queue. It mutes your microphone, alerts you with sound and a notification when an agent answers, and asks them to hold briefly.
A few limits: U.S. and Canada only; no emergency calls (911/112); premium 900/976 numbers are blocked. Some companies block internet calls, so reaching every hotline isn’t guaranteed. Internet charges may apply.
