OurLocals started after I came across the story of a small bakery in the Himalayas run by a deaf couple. It made me realize how many incredible local places and people have inspiring stories but remain hidden because there's no dedicated place to discover or preserve them. That inspired me to build OurLocals, a community-driven map where anyone can share meaningful local places, write their stories, and help others discover them. As the idea evolved, it became more than a discovery platform; it's a living archive of local culture, helping preserve the people, traditions, and businesses that make every community unique.
