Onda
macOS terminal built for Claude Code, with native MCP
Onda is a macOS terminal built for AI-assisted development. Bundles a 21-tool MCP server so Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf and any MCP client can drive panes, tabs, workspaces and screenshots. Auto-detects interrupted Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI sessions and offers one-click resume. Cmd+Shift+S captures any window as PNG and bracketed-paste injects the path as [Image #N] for the active agent. Mosaic split panes, built-in Git panel, file browser, dev server preview, plugin system.
Hi everyone ‚ I'm Mario, the maker of Onda. I built it because I was constantly losing Claude Code sessions when my laptop closed or a process crashed mid-refactor, and the existing terminals (iTerm2, Warp, Ghostty) had no opinion about that workflow. So I made one.
The two features I'm most proud of are AI session resume‚ Onda inspects the active process tree per pane and lets you one-click restore an interrupted Claude Code / Codex CLI / Gemini CLI session ‚ and the bundled 21-tool MCP server, which lets Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, or Claude Code itself drive Onda's panes, tabs, workspaces, and screenshots directly. The Cmd+Shift+S screenshot capture pastes the file path as [Image #N] into the active terminal so the agent reads it on the next turn.
Free with optional Pro tier ($3/mo or $59 lifetime). No account required, no telemetry by default, runs entirely on-device. macOS 12+ on Apple Silicon, notarized.
Curious to hear if anyone here uses Onda alongside a different terminal for specific tasks, and what made you keep both.

Who hunted Onda?
Onda was hunted by Mario Mosca. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
