Okigae
Put cute character faces over your Mac menu bar icons
The row of icons along the top of your screen turns into a grey blur after a while. Okigae lays a character over the ones you choose. Nothing is actually replaced: a transparent panel sits over the item, its background captured from what is really behind it, and clicks pass straight through, so the app's own menu opens exactly as before. Pick an item in one grid and a face in another and it takes effect straight away. Bring your own PNGs. Quit and all is as it was. Free and open source.
Hi Product Hunt! Okigae gives faces to the menu bar items you choose, so the ones you need stand out from the grey row. macOS has no way to restyle other apps' items, so Okigae draws a transparent panel on top and lets clicks pass through to the real item. Bring your own PNGs too. macOS 14+, `brew install --cask piro0919/tap/okigae`. Feedback welcome!
