I tried setting up Pi-hole on an old Raspberry Pi 3B, but after a few burned-out SD cards, and with memory prices what they are and the latest Pi feeling expensive enough (to not warrant it for just a Pi-hole setup! It’s a DNS sinkhole, not a money-sinkhole...), I decided to use my spare VPS instead.
A reliable setup meant working through WireGuard Mesh configurations, DNS routing, proxy setups for clients that didn't all behave the same way, and then the fun part: encrypted DNS. I got a working setup through much wrangling, and then I wanted it to be seamless and reliable enough that I wouldn't have to constantly check on it. Like just paste into the device and go.
Have to say, it is one thing to get a personal working setup, but quite another when you expect it to be a production-level workflow. That has now been completely reworked and launched as a saas that offers a hands-off auto-setup that is available for use on your devices instantly.
