NASdisks
Compare NAS HDDs & SSDs: CMR/SMR, endurance, live price/TB
Filter currently-sold NAS hard drives by CMR/SMR, capacity, class and real-world failure rates (Backblaze AFR). 140 drives. Compare NAS-relevant SSDs by endurance (TBW/DWPD), NAND type, DRAM cache and power-loss protection. QLC flagged like SMR. 56 drives. Live cheapest price/TB across 7 regions. Open CC BY 4.0 dataset + API. Affiliate-funded, nothing gated.
I built NASdisks because every time I speced a NAS I hit the same wall: "NAS" on the box tells you nothing about whether a drive is SMR (which can wreck a RAID rebuild), and vendor MTBF numbers are marketing.
So, I put what actually matters in one table - CMR vs SMR judged per model, failure rates I compute from Backblaze's raw Drive Stats, noise, and the live cheapest price-per-TB across 7 Amazon regions, refreshed daily.
It covers SSDs too, with the stuff that actually decides endurance in a NAS - TBW/DWPD, NAND type, DRAM cache and power-loss protection, with QLC flagged the way SMR is.
No login, nothing gated. The data is open (CC BY 4.0) with a free API. Happy to answer anything about the methodology.

Who hunted NASdisks?
NASdisks was hunted by deeddy. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
