Hey Product Hunt 👋 MyTops came out of a recurring evening: sitting down with my partner and spending half an hour deciding what to watch. Not for lack of ideas — the ideas arrive constantly, just never at that moment. Every topic already has its own app, and that's the problem. Your collection is shattered across six of them, and each one eventually fails the same way: the thing you want to save isn't in its catalogue, so you can't save it. The obvious fix is to index the whole internet across every topic. That's impossible. So MyTops inverts it — it only indexes what people actually ask for. Search for something, and it hits the database first. If it's there, instant. If it isn't, MyTops researches it on the web, structures it into that topic's schema, and saves it — permanently, for everyone. Your miss becomes the next person's hit. The catalogue is written by its own users. What you get: 🎬 Six topics in one place — films, series, anime, books, games, restaurants ⭐ Rate 1–5 and build watch-later lists that span every topic 🤖 Never hit "not found" — missing items get researched and added 🔓 Free, and fully open source (MIT) Being straight with you, because it's a proof of concept, not a polished product: • When an item isn't in the database yet, it takes a few seconds to appear. Real work is happening in that pause, but it's the weakest part of the experience. • The design is deliberately plain. I'm a backend engineer and I'd rather ship something honest than something I half-understand. • I'm paying the AI costs myself, so there are usage limits — sized to protect me from a runaway bill, not to keep anyone out. Sign in with Google, GitHub or email and it's yours. I'd genuinely love to know which topic you reach for first — and what you searched for that wasn't there. Who hunted MyTops?

MyTops was hunted by Roberto. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
