MomentLog
Sci-fi-inspired video journals with AI summaries
Inspired by the personal video logs in Avatar and The Martian, we built MomentLog to bring that experience into everyday life. Capture the excitement in your voice, the disappointment on your face, and the little moments words alone can’t hold. Press play and feel like you’re living that day again. With a sci-fi-inspired HUD, AI summaries, searchable transcripts, and weekly recaps, your memories stay vivid—and easy to revisit.
Hi Product Hunt! I'm Zhijie, the maker of MomentLog.
We’ve always loved the personal video logs in Avatar and The Martian: a camera, a HUD, and someone recording life as it unfolds. You see their excitement, feel their disappointment, and catch the expressions that words alone can’t quite capture.
We wanted that for everyday life. A way to press play and remember how a day felt, not just what happened.
But a folder full of videos is hard to revisit. Finding one thought can mean watching several recordings all over again. That’s why we paired video logs with AI.
With MomentLog, you can:
• Record a personal video log with a sci-fi-inspired HUD and the context of when and where.
• Get AI summaries and transcripts, then search for thoughts you want to revisit.
• Keep related logs in Projects to follow an idea over time.
• Look back at your week with Weekly Recaps.
It’s available on iPhone through the App Store link on this page.
I’d love your feedback: what would make video journaling a habit you’d stick with? And what would you record in your first log?
Thanks for taking a look. I’m happy to answer questions about the app and how we built it.
