Hi Product Hunt 👋 Mojibuster fixes one very specific, very annoying problem: text whose characters broke because it was saved in one encoding and opened in another. "Für" instead of "Für" in an Excel export, "it’s" in a newsletter, "縺薙ｓ" instead of Japanese, subtitles full of "é". How it works: ① Paste the text or drop the file ② It finds the broken runs and repairs only those – correct text stays untouched ③ Copy the result or download it as UTF-8 (with BOM for Excel if you want) What I cared about most: 🔒 Privacy – your files never leave your device. No upload, no account, no cookies. ✅ Never making things worse – "Ã" is a real letter in Portuguese, so every repair is checked for plausibility before it's applied. 🌍 Not just Western text – Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Russian, Arabic, Hebrew, Greek, Thai, Vietnamese, and legacy Hindi/Bengali/Nepali fonts. The site itself is in 35 languages. It's free. I'd love to hear about broken text it can't fix yet – just paste an example in the comments.
