I’m the indie developer behind Modipix.
I built this app because I wanted a mobile photo editor that handles color grading properly, without the usual interface clutter, ads, or heavy cloud processing. Most mobile apps rely on aggressive, pre-baked filters that quickly destroy image details, or they force you to upload your photos to their servers.
Modipix takes a different approach. It is built to be entirely privacy-first and offline-first—100% of the rendering happens locally on your device. To keep the 3D LUT processing and analog film effects smooth and high-performing, I developed a custom shader pipeline that handles the heavy lifting directly on the GPU.
What you can do with Modipix:
• 3D LUT & Custom Import: Access over 500 color simulations inspired by classic film stocks (Fujifilm, Kodak) and log profiles (DJI, LUMIX). You can also import your own .cube or .png files directly.
• Smart Filter (Color Copy): An on-device tool that analyzes the color palette of any reference image and automatically extracts it into a custom LUT for your own photos.
• Analog Film Effects: Granular, non-destructive control over organic film grain, light leaks, scratches, and halation/glow.
• Minimalist EXIF Frames: Clean, typography-focused borders that automatically
extract and display your camera metadata (gear, focal length, aperture, ISO).
Modipix is fully functional offline, requires no accounts, and doesn't track your data.
