Hey Product Hunt, I’m Theo. I made Moated.
I kept sitting down to work on something that mattered and ending up somewhere else. A plain timer didn’t stop me, and a browser blocker did nothing about apps. So I built the thing I wanted: you say what you’re doing, and the drawbridge goes up until it’s done.
Moated lives in your menu bar. Every session starts with a goal and a length, from 5 minutes to 2 hours. Then you pick what’s off-limits:
Session goal that forces you to name something you aim to achieve
Blocked apps disappear the moment they open
Blocked sites in Safari, Chrome, Arc, Dia and Helium go to a blank page
Six categories to start, each one yours to edit, or make your own
Two short pauses per session if you really need them, then the blocks come back on their own
The time left sits right in your menu bar
History shows what you actually focused on, and any session can become a preset
Open something you’ve blocked and you get one button: Back to work!
It’s a native Mac app for macOS 15 and later. Free for 7 days, then $15 once. No subscription. The first 15 people who use the discount code get 20% off.
I’d love to know what you’d block first.
