Mnemorenna: Memory Games

Memory games without cards, ads or internet

Mnemorenna is a set of small memory games with no cards to flip. Each game shows you something, hides it and asks you to bring it back: a string of characters, a path across the field, a list of words, the order of tiles. Difficulty follows you: get it right and the next round is one step longer, miss and it is one step shorter. No ads, no account, no internet: the app asks for no permissions at all. Every game is open from the first launch.

Hi, I'm Viktor, a solo Android developer. My first memory game was the classic "find the pair" with cards. When it came out I wanted the opposite: a collection of small games without a single card, all built on one idea: you are shown something, it is hidden, and you bring it back. Before writing code I read user reviews of the big brain-training apps. The same complaints kept coming up: ads over the playing field, a subscription that locks half the content, a required account, "a hundred games" that are really one game with different pictures, and difficulty that does not adapt. So Mnemorenna has a few rules I have kept from day one: no ads at all, no network and no permissions, every game unlocked from the start, and difficulty that moves one step up or down after each round. There are three lives, and you can turn them off. The app passed Google Play's Teacher Approved review and is listed in the Kids tab, though I made it for adults too. I would love to hear which game you find hardest and what kind of memory game you miss.
