I'm Takahito, the maker of Manifest.
This started with a small annoyance: every morning my alarm dumped me straight into emails, news, and notifications —other people's priorities, before my own. The people I admired all seemed to have some kind of "morning ritual," but every wellness app I tried wanted 20 minutes of meditation I didn't have.
So I flipped the question: what if the ritual was the alarm?
The alarm is the one universal touchpoint of the day — you can't skip it. What if the 30 seconds between "stop alarm" and "open phone for real" became the ritual itself?
That's Manifest:

A few things that evolved while building:
1. I killed the backend. I was originally going to do per-user AI generation on a server. Cost was ~100× worse, latency hurt the morning feel, and quality was less consistent than carefully pre-written content. Cutting it felt scary; in hindsight it was the best decision in the project.
2. The tarot flip animation took the longest of any single
feature. The card has to feel physical — weight, hesitation,
reveal. If it just fades in, the whole ritual breaks.
Probably the part I'm most proud of.
3. Privacy almost wasn't a headline feature. I pivoted once I realized "no data leaves your phone" is rare in this category — and the people who care about astrology tend to care a lot about who has their birth time.
