Macview
A light qView-style image viewer: just the picture
Open a picture in Macview and the picture is all you get: no toolbar, no sidebar, no title bar, on a plain dark ground. The window opens at the size of the image, and the arrow keys move through the rest of the folder. It opens whatever macOS can read, including HEIC, WebP, AVIF and camera RAW, plays animated GIF, APNG and WebP at their own speed, and shows a window about half a second after launch. 1.6 MB, no network connections at all. Free and open source.
Hi Product Hunt! I wanted qView's simplicity on the Mac without the weight: open an image, see the image, press an arrow for the next one. Macview leaves reading the files to macOS and puts nothing on screen but the picture, with a window up about half a second after launch. macOS 14+, Apple silicon, `brew install --cask piro0919/tap/macview`. Feedback welcome!
