Lists & Notes
Private, offline note taking & to-do list manager for Mac
A private, offline note taking app and to-do list manager for Mac. Markdown editor with live preview, PDF and Word export, AI writing tools. No subscription, no cloud — your data stays on your machine.
I built this because every note taking app I tried either wanted a monthly subscription, required an account, or stored my data on someone else's servers. I just wanted something local and simple.
I'm not a developer by background. I've spent over 20 years working in digital, and when AI coding tools came along they let me start building the tools I'd always wished existed.
Lists & Notes runs entirely on your Mac. Your notes are stored as plain Markdown files, backups happen automatically every day, and there's no account to create. It's a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
You can write notes in Markdown with a live preview, create to-do lists with priorities, organise everything with categories, and export to PDF or Word. There are optional AI features for grammar checking and writing improvement if you want them, using your own API key.
Would love to hear from anyone else who cares about keeping their notes private and local.
