Who hunted Linkoku?
Linkoku was hunted by James Brooks. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community. Hey Product Hunt 👋
I'm James, and Linkoku is a game I made for playing round the table. The rules are simple: get five in a row before anyone else does. There's one twist. Every tile you place has to touch one that's already on the board, and each colour only gets 15 tiles. Once yours are all down, you move one of your own tiles instead of adding a new one. Do you build your own line, or break up someone else's?
Here's what you get:
🎲 Up to four players on one iPhone or iPad. Table top mode turns each player's rack towards their seat, and Pass round mode is there for when you're handing the phone around (great when traveling!)
🤖 AI opponents on Easy, Medium or Hard, which you can play solo or mix in with friends.
⏳ No turn timers, so everyone can take their time.
✈️ It works offline.
🎨 Four colour palettes (Classic, Forest, Ocean and Sunset), plus optional move hints.
It's completely free with no ads, and every feature is included. The only purchases are optional one-time tips if you'd like to support development.
I'd love to hear what you think, especially whether the AI on Hard is fair or a bit too mean 😅
