Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Chimpanshya Simbeya, the maker of LedgerLoop.
This whole journey actually started at my kitchen table. My wife runs a small business, and I watched her constantly stress over lost physical receipts, messy spreadsheets, and the looming anxiety of tax season. The dreaded "shoebox accounting" was taking a real toll on her workflow.
I originally started writing the code for LedgerLoop just to help her out. But the more I built, the more I realized that almost every freelancer, contractor, and small business owner struggles with this exact same pain point. I knew I had to share it.
The biggest hurdle: Real life doesn't always have a 5G connection. During our beta testing, we hit a massive wall with users on spotty networks (including a wild bug on a Starlink connection!). I ended up completely re-engineering the app to feature an offline-first architecture. Now, you can scan receipts and crunch numbers completely offline, and LedgerLoop will seamlessly sync to the cloud the second you reconnect.
