I’m Damon, the founder of KittenCuddles. I built KittenCuddles because Shopify stores have a surprisingly large attack and failure surface, but most merchants don’t have anything resembling security monitoring. KittenCuddles watches a store for unusual or potentially damaging changes, things like product changes, bulk edits, discount changes, theme alterations and other activity that you probably want to know about quickly. The philosophy is deliberately simple: monitor, alert, and stay out of the way. KittenCuddles is read-only. It doesn’t automatically change your store, block users or attempt to “fix” anything on your behalf. If something strange happens, it tells you what it observed so you can decide what to do. I originally built it with larger Shopify stores in mind, but realised fairly quickly that smaller merchants have the same basic problem: if something changes unexpectedly, somebody needs to notice. It’s now live on the Shopify App Store, which feels slightly surreal after fighting the Shopify App Store approval process. I’d particularly love feedback from Shopify merchants, agencies and people working in ecommerce/security: what would you want a Shopify monitoring product to watch that it doesn’t already? Thanks for taking a look, and yes, the name is intentionally ridiculous.
