Most teams don't actually want "an ML model." They want to know what's likely to happen next, and what to do about it. They want it fast, they want it correct, and they want it to actually work in production.
The problem is that most prediction ideas never become usable models. They stay in spreadsheets, dashboards, gut feel, or "we'll get to it later," because getting from data to a deployed model still takes too much coordination across data science, ML, and engineering.
I learned this at ZestyAI, where I helped build the first AI model approved by the California Department of Insurance. The model was valuable. Shipping it took a year.
Impulse is our attempt to make that workflow feel simple. You describe what you want to predict in plain English, connect your data, and the agent handles the rest: cleaning, feature engineering, model selection, leakage checks, training, deployment, monitoring. You usually get a deployed model with a live API in under an hour.
We're not building this for ML engineers. A good MLE can already ship a model with Claude Code. We're building this for the person who owns the problem but can't: chemical engineers, manufacturing teams, PMs, analysts, ops, finance.
