Hi Product Hunt,
I started building Imposia after repeatedly running into the same frustrating problem: a document looked right in the browser, but the printed or Save as PDF result did not. Page breaks moved, page counts changed, and small differences became long debugging sessions.
The underlying issue was that pagination, preview, and print were often handled by different DOM trees or rendering paths. I wanted one document to remain the source of truth throughout the entire process.
That became Imposia, an open-source, browser-native HTML/CSS publishing toolkit. It keeps one canonical page document across pagination, preview, and native print.
Today it includes:
• React-first and framework-neutral Core APIs
• Paginated HTML/CSS with page geometry and typed layout warnings
• Continuous, single-page, and spread viewing modes
• Publication outlines, search, thumbnails, and diagnostics
• Controlled asset loading and sanitization
• Reflowable EPUB 3.3 export
Imposia does not replace the browser with a server-side PDF renderer, and it does not promise perfect support for every CSS fragmentation case. The goal is an inspectable and explicit workflow that is less likely to drift between preview and print.
