I’m Uday, and I built Haylio on my own. I kept trying apps for meeting new people and kept hitting the same two problems. Random chat apps feel empty: you skip, skip, skip and nothing sticks. Social apps turn into swiping on faces. I wanted something in between, where you talk first and keep the people worth keeping. What Haylio does: Instant 1:1 chat. Tap and you’re talking to someone new. Add interests if you want a better match, or skip whenever you like. A daily deck instead of swiping. Each profile card has a prompt. You answer the prompt to connect. There’s no like button and no judging photos. The deck resets every midnight. Chats disappear after 24 hours. Conversations aren’t stored forever. If you clicked with someone, send a connection request. If they accept, you can keep talking. Topic rooms for group conversation, with reporting and bans built in. Nearby (opt-in) shows people around you as rough distance bands, never your exact location. Photos only between connections. They’re blurred by default and location data is stripped. Why it’s different: Haylio is built for conversation, not dating and not endless browsing. Strangers only see your display name, and you decide who becomes a connection. It’s on Android right now.
