Hey everyone! Lucas here, co-founder of Hangr 👋
Honestly, this whole thing started from a pretty relatable frustration. My co-founder and I were tired of shopping for clothes online and only seeing flat lay shots or models who looked nothing like us. We thought, what if we could just see how pieces actually look and mix-and-match them in 3D? That was the original spark.
So we went heads down building a 3D configurator for clothing brands. Then reality hit, accurately simulating how fabric drapes, stretches, and fits on different body types is an insanely hard problem, and our AI just wasn't there yet.
But here's where it got interesting. While running our beta and talking to customers, we kept hearing the same thing from brands outside of fashion: furniture sellers, toy brands, accessory labels, dealing with the same core problem. Flat, lifeless product images that don't convert. And our conversion tech worked really well for them.
That's when we made the call to pivot. Instead of forcing a hard tech problem in fashion, we zoomed out to ask: which ecommerce verticals actually benefit most from 3D, and how much of a conversion lift can we drive for them? That question is what Hangr is built around today.
Still early days, but the results we're seeing across furniture and collectibles are pretty exciting. Happy to share more in the comments!
