GPX Forecast

Plan your ride. Know the weather, kilometer by kilometer.

Most weather apps show a forecast at your start point. GPX Forecast places weather markers along your entire route, timed to when you'll actually be there. Drop agpx file, set your pace and start time, and instantly see temperature, wind, rain and more at every km along the trace. No account, no API key, no server: everything runs in your browser. Built for cyclists, hikers, and trail runners who want to stop guessing.

I ride a lot (cycling and hiking) and I kept running into the same frustration: weather apps give you a forecast for a city, not for a mountain pass you'll reach at 2pm after 5 hours of climbing. I wanted to know if that storm would hit before or after the exposed ridge. So I built this. The core idea was simple: parse a GPX, sample points along the route, and fetch the forecast timed to your actual arrival. What surprised me was how much the little details mattered: wind direction on a climb feels very different than wind direction on a descent, so I added animated arrows. The elevation chart needed to sync with the map cursor. Pace presets (hike vs road bike) changed forecasts dramatically. Very simple app: no backend, no account, no tracking. Just drop your file and go. Would love to hear how others use it and what sports/activities you're planning around!
