Glassdrop
Notifications from only the apps you choose, in one orb
A floating orb above your Dock that gathers notifications from only the apps you drop onto it. Read them when you want; take an app out and it stops. On the Mac App Store as Glassdrop Orb (€2.99), or direct from glassdrop.app: free for a week, then €3 once. macOS 26.
Hi, I'm the maker. I built Glassdrop for myself: I wanted notifications from two or three apps, not from everything. You hold the drop at the centre of the orb, carry it onto an app's window, and let go; from then on that app's notifications gather in the orb. Take its icon out and it stops.
Two ways to get it, same orb:
- Mac App Store, as Glassdrop Orb, €2.99. Sandboxed, so you drop on windows, not on Dock icons.
- Direct from glassdrop.app: use all of it free for 7 days, then €3 (launch price) for a key that works on up to 9 of your Macs. It can also drop on Dock icons and shows copy and download progress as small water bubbles next to the orb.
macOS 26, Apple silicon or Intel. You allow it once by choosing the folder of the notification list (no Full Disk Access), and everything stays on your Mac: the direct version goes online once, to check your key, and never again. Tested with Claude, WhatsApp, Telegram and Reminders. 14-day refund on the direct version.
Built with Claude Code: I described what I wanted, and Claude wrote and tested most of the Swift, the animations and even this launch page.
What would make you want this, or why would you not?

Who hunted Glassdrop?
Glassdrop was hunted by Alberto Iannaccone. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
