Foleyard

A local-first browser for messy SFX libraries.

Foleyard is different because it is built for real, messy audio folders instead of forcing you into a clean cloud library. It runs local-first, indexes the folders already on your machine, and lets you browse, search, preview, favourite, and organise SFX, music cues, and large audio collections without uploading everything first. It is made for editors, sound designers, and makers who just want to find the right sound faster.

Hey, I’m Dae. I’m building Foleyard. The whole thing started because my own sound library was a mess. SFX, music cues, old downloads, badly named files, random folders. All over the place. Every time I needed one sound, I’d lose a few minutes digging around instead of editing. Small thing, but it adds up. And it’s annoying. So I started building a faster way to browse and preview local audio files. Foleyard now indexes the folders you already have, lets you search, preview, favourite, and organise sounds, and keeps the library on your machine. For v1, I’m keeping it boring on purpose. No big platform. No forced workflow. No cloud lock-in. Just a cleaner way to work with messy audio folders. If you edit video, design sound, or have a cursed SFX folder somewhere, I’d love your take.

Who hunted Foleyard?

Foleyard was hunted by Dalen. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
