Folder Lock Vault
Lock sensitive Mac folders in a local AES-256 vault
Folder Lock Vault protects selected Mac folders in local AES-256 encrypted sparsebundle vaults. It verifies copied contents before moving the original folder to Trash, unlocks in Finder, and relocks by unmounting. No account, analytics, cloud upload, or recovery backdoor. Free macOS beta: https://testflight.apple.com/join/GbEghVPg. Test only with disposable sample folders.
Hi Product Hunt — I built Folder Lock Vault for Mac users who want an understandable local workflow for protecting client files, finance folders, personal archives, or project deliveries without uploading them to a cloud service.
The app uses macOS AES-256 encrypted sparsebundle vaults. It verifies the encrypted copy before moving the original folder to Trash, unlocks the vault in Finder, and relocks it by unmounting. There is no account and no recovery backdoor, so testers must keep the passphrase safe.
The free macOS beta is now open: https://testflight.apple.com/joi...
Please test only with a newly created disposable sample folder—never the sole copy of important data. I would value reproducible feedback on the lock, unlock, relock, safety-warning, recovery, accessibility, and localization workflows. Report your macOS version, Mac type, vault location, and exact steps. Source code: FL-PH.
