Hey Product Hunt 👋

I’m Raf, the developer behind Floodtide, a native Mac app that brings your app updates into one place.
Keeping a Mac updated can mean opening the App Store, checking Homebrew, launching individual apps and visiting developers’ websites. Floodtide brings those checks together, shows what needs attention and lets you install supported updates together.

What’s changed since the first launch?

The biggest additions are App Store updates inside Floodtide and a dedicated Homebrew workspace. You can manage packages and services, check Homebrew’s health and bring supported apps you installed manually under Homebrew management.
Alongside those additions, Floodtide includes:

- Batch updates: choose individual apps or update supported apps together.
- Optional automatic updates: decide which apps can update automatically, with scheduling and quiet hours.
- Clear update sources: see where an update comes from and when an app needs its own updater.
- Backups: keep previous versions of supported apps so you can restore them if needed.
- Menu bar access: see what’s waiting without keeping the main window open.

It won’t automatically install every update on your Mac. Some apps still need their own installer or your attention, and Floodtide makes those exceptions visible.

You can check your own apps before buying.

There’s a 14-day full trial with no account or card required, and scanning stays free afterwards. Installing updates after the trial costs £10.99 once for up to three Macs, including all 1.x updates. Floodtide supports Intel and Apple silicon Macs running macOS 13 or later.

I’d love to hear how it handles your app library. Especially which apps you still find awkward to keep updated, and what would make that easier. I’ll be here answering questions and listening to feedback.

Who hunted Floodtide?

Floodtide was hunted by Raf. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
