Fathom

Turn messy bank exports into clear financial decisions

Fathom is not another finance dashboard or chat over a CSV. It turns recurring, messy bank exports into a reliable local ledger, keeps uncertainty visible, and surfaces only what still needs attention. Virtual Purpose Accounts separate where money is held from what it is for. On top of that shared financial foundation, an Advisor remembers your context, explains trade-offs, creates plans, and can take approved actions through dedicated tools.

I built Fathom because I’m honestly not naturally good at managing finances, and most finance apps felt like another system I had to maintain.

I wanted a calmer path: feed it messy bank exports, let it build a reliable ledger, and surface only what still needs my attention. Purpose Accounts show what my money is actually for, while the Advisor already understands that financial world and helps me think through decisions.

Fathom is an early Apple Silicon alpha.
The isolated in-app demo is the fastest way to explore it, and I’ve put together a short setup guide for trying the demo or importing your own exports with Codex: https://fathom.ehrax.dev/setup/

I built Fathom for myself first, and I’d genuinely love to hear what feels useful, confusing, or still missing.

Who hunted Fathom?

Fathom was hunted by Alexander Rasputin. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
