Extra Guac
25+ tools for the page you're on, in one Chrome side panel
Screenshots with markup, privacy blur for emails and keys, dark mode, auto-refresh with keyword alerts, text from images, color, font and element pickers, clipboard history, a QR code maker and more. Session switch keeps several logins per site, one click apart. Beam sends files between your devices, encrypted end to end. No accounts, no analytics, no server of ours: everything stays in your browser. Free and open source.
Extra Guac started as a screenshot tool and kept growing: every time I reached for yet another single-purpose extension, I built that tool into the same side panel instead. It's now 25+ tools, and yes, we may have gotten carried away.
• Screenshot: a dragged area, the visible part of the tab, or the full page + annotate tools • Privacy blur: hides emails, phone numbers and other personal data on screen • Dark mode: on every site, or only the ones you pick • Refresh: hard refresh, or nuke a site's cookies, storage and cache • Auto-refresh: on a fixed or random timer, with an alert when your keywords appear • URL shorten: shorten the page's address, copied right away • Tab volume: turn down one noisy tab • Awake: keep the screen on for a set time, or until you say stop • URL auto redirect: rewrite site addresses with your own rules • Highlight words: neon marks for words you care about, on every site or per site • What color?: copy the color of any pixel on the page • What font?: find the real name of any font on the page • What element?: copy an element's CSS or XPath selector • Remove elements: click away clutter; it stays gone on that site • Clipboard history: search and pin text you copy on web pages • Zoom & rotate images: hold a key and scroll over any image • Save images on click: hold a key and click; save as is, PNG, JPG or WebP • Upload images: right-click an image to upload it, link copied • Text from image: drag over any text on screen; it's read and copied • Refresh on focus: refreshes a tab when you come back to it • Enable copy & right-click: unlock sites that block them, one site at a time • Open other site URLs in new tab: links leaving a site open in a new tab, on the sites you pick • Scratch pads: six pads that save as you type, in rich or plain text • Beam: send files between your devices with a 6-digit code, encrypted end to end • QR code: for any link or text, static or dynamic QR code with your own icon in the middle • Proxy: open the sites you pick through your own proxy account, in the country you choose • Session switch: several logins for one site, switched in a click
Privacy was the rule from day one: no accounts, no analytics and no server of ours. Data leaves your browser only when you use a tool that needs an outside service you chose, and tools that record anything stay off until you turn them on.
It's free and open source. I'd love to hear which tool you'd add next, or which one you'd drop. 🥑
