Hi Product Hunt — I’m Etan, the developer of EXIFXplorer. I’m also a photographer, and I built EXIFXplorer because I kept running into the same problem: modern cameras record an extraordinary amount of information in every photograph, but most photography software only shows a small part of it. EXIFXplorer is my attempt to make that hidden information useful. It goes beyond basic shutter speed, aperture and ISO to expose manufacturer maker notes, autofocus information, focus points, GPS data, XMP/IPTC metadata and other camera-specific details. Some of the features I’ve found particularly useful are: • Finder Quick Look for RAW files — select a supported RAW file in Finder, press Space, and inspect metadata, maker notes, focus-point information and location without opening the app. • AF-point visualization — see where the camera actually focused when the photograph was made. • Metadata comparison — compare two frames side by side and highlight only what changed. • Map + GPX geotagging — place photos on a map or match images to a GPX track using capture time. • Batch metadata tools — rename, keyword, edit and copy metadata from a reference photograph across a shoot. • PDF contact sheets — turn a selected collection into either a classic grid or a more metadata-rich table that can be printed, shared or archived. • Privacy-aware export — remove things like GPS coordinates or camera serial numbers while keeping the metadata you want. EXIFXplorer is a native macOS app, works offline, requires no account, and uses XMP sidecars by default so original RAW files remain untouched. It’s $7.99 as a one-time purchase, with a 7-day full-feature trial. I’d particularly like feedback from photographers on two things: 1. Which pieces of camera metadata do you wish your current software exposed more clearly? 2. How useful do you find the Finder Quick Look extension? Thanks for taking a look. https://exifxplorer.com/
