editpot
Free image editor in your browser — no install, no signup
An image editor that opens in a browser tab, with no install and no account. It has real layers, layer masks and selections, text that stays editable until export, and a 20-step history. Make a full favicon set (ICO + PNG, 16-512) from one image, edit GIF frames, and open PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP, PSD and AI files. Editing and export run on your device by default. Free, no ads, no watermark.
Hi Product Hunt! I'm Seung-gyu, a solo developer based in Korea.
I built editpot because I kept bouncing between different websites for simple image tasks - resizing an image here, making a favicon there, trimming a GIF somewhere else. And more often than not, I had to upload my files just to get started.
I wanted something simpler: one browser tab with proper layers, where my images stay on my device by default.
Here's what you can do with editpot:
Work with layers, masks, and selections, including lasso, magic wand, and feathering
Add text that stays editable until export, with 20 steps of history you can jump back to
Turn one image into a complete favicon set (ICO + PNG, 16–512 px, plus Android icons) and download it as a ZIP
Open PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP, PSD, and AI files, and edit individual GIF frames
A few things to keep in mind:
PSD files are flattened when imported, and AI files open with the first artboard
The file size limit is 50 MB, and GIFs are limited to 256 colors per frame
It's not meant to replace Photoshop - there's no adjustment layers, CMYK, or RAW support
editpot is free to use, with no ads or signup required. I also open-sourced the ICO encoder on npm (@editpot/ico-encoder) under the MIT license.
I'd love to hear what you think! Was anything confusing when you first opened it? Did you run into a file that wouldn't work? And what small image task would you like to see added next?
Thanks for checking it out!
