Find the apps that actually use Apple’s foldable iPhone Duo
DuoDiscover is an independent directory of apps for iPhone Duo, Apple’s first foldable. Every App Store app runs on it, but few make real use of the fold. Each listing gets one of three tiers (Built for Duo, Adapted or Compatible) and shows the source behind it: Apple, the developer’s release notes or blog, with the date it was checked. 21 apps at launch plus a launch-day tracker updated daily. Free, no account, and developers can submit their apps.
iPhone Duo ships this Friday, and I kept running into the same question: which apps are actually ready for it? Every App Store app installs, but most just keep their phone layout with black borders on the big inner screen. There's no filter or badge in the App Store for it.
So I built DuoDiscover, a small, hand-checked directory. Every listing has:
A tier: Built for Duo (does something with the fold, the outer screen or Split View), Adapted (fills the inner display) or Compatible (just runs)
The source behind it: Apple's announcement, the developer's release notes or blog, with a date
A short note on what the app does folded vs unfolded
It launches with 21 apps, including Inoreader, NostalgicPod, Mercury Weather, Bear, Netflix and Fantastical, plus a launch-day tracker I'll keep updating through the weekend.
