Drive Browser
Search your unplugged drives, discs and tapes
Drive Browser catalogs your external drives, USB sticks, discs and LTO tapes so you can search them while they sit unplugged on the shelf. New in 2.2: keep one shared catalog on a NAS that every machine on the network reads, drive cards for 32 media types with your own drive photos, drive bins, and a warning when a drive starts failing during a scan. Windows and Mac. 14-day free trial, then $39.99 one-time for 2 computers.
Hi everyone, I'm Dante, the developer of Drive Browser. It catalogs external drives, discs and tapes so you can find which one a file is on without plugging anything in. This second launch is version 2.2. The biggest change is shared catalogs: put one catalog on a NAS and every machine on the network reads the same library, with only one computer making changes at a time so it can't get corrupted. It also warns you when a drive starts failing during a scan. Happy to answer questions about how it handles big archives.
