Downword
A word processor built for the AI era
A document-first Mac word processor for the AI era, with beautifully rendered pages and portable Markdown underneath.
Definitely not another Markdown editor. Downword goes a step further with its Word Process-like experience while benefiting from the simplicity, portability, and AI-readiness of Markdown. Connect the built-in Writing Assistant to your AI provider of choice (or switch off all AI features) and get line-by-line assistance whenever you need it. File and image attachments are supported, so you can give the AI the context it needs to help you. There a ton of other features, including a workspace where you can organize and access your files quickly, themes, dark mode, support for basic accessibility, and more.
Whether you're a founder, writer, or just obsessed with keeping your notes, files, and AI skills organized, Downword give you a beautiful and very fast UI to do so. (We've tested and optimized Downword to work well with over 100,000 words per document).
