DevSweep

Reclaim gigabytes of dev caches on your Mac — safely

DevSweep finds the space your dev tools quietly leave behind — Xcode DerivedData, node_modules, Gradle, CocoaPods, Rust targets, Python virtualenvs, plus system/browser caches and logs — and lets you reclaim tens of GB in a few clicks. What makes it different: it never deletes. Everything goes to the Trash. Every item is tagged Safe, Review or Protected, so you know what rebuilds instantly and what doesn't. 100% offline — no network, no telemetry, no account. Free on the Mac App Store.

Hi Product Hunt! As a developer, my Mac kept running out of space. When I finally dug in, I found 58.67 GB hiding in caches and build folders — Xcode DerivedData, Gradle, CocoaPods, stray node_modules — tucked into corners of my home folder I never open. About 20 GB of it was safe to clear right away. I wanted a cleaner that actually understands developer tools, and one I could trust not to break anything. So I built DevSweep around three rules: 1. Never delete. Everything goes to the Trash, so you can always pull it back. 2. Be honest about the cost. Every item is labelled Safe (rebuilds automatically), Review (comes back, but slowly — big re-download or long rebuild) or Protected (credentials, settings, the tools themselves — can't even be selected). 3. Stay private. No network access, no telemetry, no account. It's sandboxed and only scans the folders you grant. It's free on the Mac App Store and just 2.9 MB. I'd love your feedback: • Which tool's cache should DevSweep support next? • How much space did it find on your Mac? Thanks for checking it out!
