DevDrop
Phone to computer in one scan. No app, nothing uploaded.
Move screenshots, recordings, files and text between your phone and computer. Open devdrop.in, scan the QR code, send. Files go straight between the two devices over encrypted WebRTC and never touch our server. No app, no account, free.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built DevDrop because getting a screenshot from my phone to my laptop meant emailing it to myself, or sending it to myself on WhatsApp and then downloading it.
How it works:
1. Open devdrop.in on your computer and you'll see a QR code
2. Scan it with your phone camera
3. Send photos, screen recordings, files, text, links or JSON, both ways
What makes it different:
🔒 Files go device to device over encrypted WebRTC. The server only introduces the two devices, then steps aside. It never sees your files.
📵 Nothing to install, no account. Every visit makes a fresh code, forgotten when you close the tab.
💻 On the computer: drag & drop, paste a screenshot with ⌘V, auto-save to a folder (Chrome/Edge), "Save all" as a zip.
📱 On iPhone, "Save all" puts photos straight into your Photos app.
Honest limitation: on the same Wi-Fi it always connects. On different networks it usually works, but some office and mobile networks block direct links. There's no relay, on purpose, so your files are never stored anywhere.
I'd love your feedback, especially if it fails on your setup. Tell me your browser and network and I'll dig in.

Who hunted DevDrop?
DevDrop was hunted by Sahil Totala. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
